Have been working with various BI tools since 2016 ( before which there was many many years of v-look up on excel) and was glad when I found the Tableau Community Forum. I enjoy the quiz show feeling and it humbles me greatly + immensely every time I scroll through the questions/answers. I am a big film/music fan and I love using Tableau together with my IMDB and Spotify data (not too sure how Tableau moved from a work tool to a hobby tool, but it just happened). I enjoy looking through Tableau Viz of the day : my kids think I am weird when I tell them that data can create art.

I have been engaged in supply chain and commercial retail for decades. I always like relevant data collection and analysis, auxiliary management and decision-making. It's amazing to start contacting tableau in 2019! It solves many problems that can not be solved by many tools and software in the past. From basic data cleaning to the interactive display and commercial application of the final dashboard, it realizes a complete closed-loop tool for business management, and has great potential. I personally like the knowledge and tools related to data science. There are many in the market, from Python and R of programming language, basic office access and excel, to database visualization, and then to visual Bi represented by tableau; Each has its own strengths, but tableau is the most promising In tableau forum, I hope to get to know more data fans and enjoy the clear data insight and visual impact it brings. It's a very happy thing.

My strongest Tableau memory is from my first TC back in 2015, when the entire arena with 11.000+ attendees gave standing ovations when Developers On Stage presented "Cross Database Joins" - that is when I realized that the Tableau users are really something special. Today, I am a visual analytics consultant at Analytic Vizion where I get to work across multiple industries from healthcare, to subscription, to real estate, to finance, and more. I enjoy engaging with the #datafam, sharing tips I learn to my blog, and transforming the presumably dull aspects of data, one visualization at a time. I'm from Greenville SC, where when I'm not working in Tableau, I'm hiking and exploring the blue ridge mountains, visiting local wineries, or grabbing tacos with friends. I developed the vision, strategy, and global operating model when asked to architect a new data organisation. This year I have been vital in architecting Azara, the world’s first complete real estate data and insights platform. It delivers business-ready, curated data sets, supporting optimising decisions, driving service improvement, and reducing risk and costs. It incorporates an intelligent building platform, supporting real-time sensor and IoT ingestion, whilst AI & ML delivers prescriptive analytics. My operating model and strategy create a coherent team of global analysts who bust silos, help leaders understand my vision, and provide decision support and automation, embedding a passion for data fluency. They join our journey from descriptive and diagnostic to predictive and, ultimately, prescriptive analytics. My unique personality and style created a culture supporting the op model. They built my programme around five themes of a POP Culture, change management, design thinking, continuous learning and uniting our community. The strategy includes maximising the margin potential inherent in BI, using data to improve compliance, reduce costs, and increase productivity with a resulting increase in margin. Simplifying our structure; building operational scale and efficiencies. Identifying and sharing valuable analytical content, promoting it across the organisation whilst driving standards and best practices. A professional community of experts; through our structure, I support the skill development of our engineers and analysts, providing a career path. My team needs to understand what’s important. Keeping everyone on the same page is difficult with a team over 150 in size, spanning 10 Countries, transcending 11 times zones with 85% of the team working virtually, so I created our Plan on a page. The PoP articulates my mission statement through six building blocks, Vision, Ambition, Cause, Values, Strategic Objectives, Key Priorities. My vision is to help people see and understand data. My values help unite diverse teams through common behaviours to achieve the vision. I consistently strive for outcomes, with four core values underpinning our delivery & success – Customer focus, Collaboration, Integrity and Courage. My operating model created an effort-based, variable resourcing model using agile methodology, introducing scrum teams and the front door process to prioritisation based on ROI. Gamification programmes increase our teams’ skills, covering data visualisation best practices, standards, and palettes developing the team from Rookie to Rockstar. I position myself like a soccer manager to attract talent, identifying new strikers who can strengthen our squad. I use gamification and our presence in the community to advertise and share our journey, inviting people to join. I created virtual #JLLdatafam badges, which attendees obtain through sharing details, including if they were considering a move. This approach was tremendously successful, identifying 130 leads and recruiting talent, including Tableau Visionaries and Alteryx Ace’s. I supported the data and analytics community through presenting at conferences and writing blogs and posts on Twitter. I am a forming member of the Data Leadership Collaborative, bringing together leaders to connect, learn, and succeed on the journey to building data-driven organisations.

When Eric attended his 1st Nashville Tableau Users Group meeting, he knew these were his people. Specifically, people who love to talk data. Financial Data, Healthcare Data or Research Data, it’s all good data. One of the main things that keeps him coming back are the interesting data conversations. He loves helping people and he usually gets more than he gives. TUGs are wonderfully weird that way. As the Manager of Data Analytes for a surgical practice in a major regional university medical center, there is plenty of data in Eric’s everyday life. Mostly healthcare and financial data. When the Nashville TUG faltered in 2019, he knew he had to help bring it back. With a small but solid leadership team that formed at TC19, the Nashville TUG not only survived the pandemic but thrived in a new virtual environment. Today Eric is leading the move back to in-person events with a mix of hybrid meetings and social Data Night Out events. He is looking forward to working with the leadership team to help grow the Nashville Users Group in 2023. When Eric’s not working with data, you’ll find him paddling one of the local rivers or climbing at one of Tennessee’s many sandstone crags.

Tableau was first introduced to me two years ago so we could create dashboards for our projects, which led to me watching Youtube tutorials by the Tableau community. The tutorials sparked my interest in Tableau's software as I could now create interactive dashboards and tell stories through them, just like Data Scientists! I am now at Changi Airport Group as a Data Analyst Intern, and I have come across various opportunities where Tableau's software could be used to bring life to payment and sales data. Outside of school and work, I also enjoy volunteering with youths my age and picking up skills to uplift the community!

This has been carried out using various scenarios and we have utilised Tableau to explore different visualisations to help bring out the key features of the data in a way which can help inform visualisation. At the University I also use the analytics component of Tableau to illustrate trends in data and to make future predictions and to estimate the uncertainties in this data. We have used the clustering function in Tableau to identify customers with different attributes and to identify relevant techniques which could be applied to each of these groups. The students, on my course, have enjoyed using Tableau and have seem how useful it is for data visualisation (getting a clear message home) and analytics to help make informed decisions. A number of these students have applied this in their professional development. I continue to use Tableau in my teaching and professional consulting work.

Laura Moreno Montes

My name is Laura Moreno Montes, and I work as a Senior Analyst at Hotelbeds. I graduated from the University of the Balearic Islands as an economist, which gave me the opportunity to begin working at Hotelbeds, where I discovered, thanks to my coworkers, that my true passion was the world of data information, so I decided to pursue a master's degree in Big Data. Regarding the master's degree, one of the subjects that I enjoyed the most was data visualization, where we used Tableau as software; this was not the first time I had used it, as it was my daily tool at work. I remember in class when the professor quoted John Naisbitt, "We are drowning in information but starved for knowledge," and hearing it for the first time cleared up all my doubts about whether I was in the right place. At that moment, I imagined myself working as a Data Analyst in the future, satisfying my continuous need for learning. This experience is proving to be quite challenging and is teaching me that there are no boundaries to knowledge. However, it is sometimes difficult to balance work and education, and, as with any stage, there are days when everything appears grey, but it is during those days that I look back and see everything I have accomplished, thanks to my perseverance. The multinational where I work has designated me as the company's BI Tableau Champion, making me a Tableau reference within my organization. As previously stated, all of this is accomplished through hard work and daily perseverance; these are the necessary ingredients for becoming the best version of oneself. In my spare time, I enjoy participating in sports because they stimulate my creativity. Specifically, races help me clear my mind and see things clearly. When a calculated field doesn't work for me or a visualization doesn't convince me, I turn off my computer and put on my sneakers, ready to clarify my thoughts. Furthermore, it was during a race a few years ago that I decided to create a Tableau Public profile and publish stories through visualizations so that any other user could use that visualization or design in their dashboard; my only goal was to help the rest of the community. I had no idea at the time that I would have the opportunity to be chosen as an aspiring Tableau Student Ambassador. In my Tableau Public profile, I publish various workbooks, from visualizations that I use in my day-to-day work and are very useful for my colleagues, and I believe they can inspire other Data Analysts, to analyses of public sources that can help the rest of society better understand what is going on in the world. As a good economist, I enjoy publishing reports on universal income, tourism, and social inequality, particularly gender inequality. In addition, I enjoy being inspired by the work of other users and learning new tricks to engage the dashboard user. Overall, Tableau has provided me with the opportunity to be a part of a wonderful community where I've met people who are fantastic at creating and telling stories with visualizations. Being a part of the Tableau community has not only allowed me to continue learning, but it has also allowed me to assist other users who were just starting to use the tool and develop their most creative spirit; having the opportunity to assist others in this way is very rewarding.

I'm currently pursuing my Master's Degree from NMIMS in Applied Statistics & Analytics. Yes, you guessed it correctly my love for data analysis & visualization started back in my bachelor's while studying statistics. Although it looks so well planned in reality it was exactly the opposite. From being confused about my career to finally opting for statistics and then falling in love with data, visualization eventually Tableau the journey has been super amazing. In all this, I also started getting involved in community work and I'm currently a Community Advocate at Women in Analytics as well as Community Lead at Global AI Hub. Fun Fact: I'm a complete people person. I love talking with people and motivating them. And I'm able to expand my horizon by being an #IamRemarkable Facilitator - a Google initiative empowering women and other underrepresented groups to celebrate their achievements in the workplace and beyond. In short, if I was an equation then I would have surely been: Statistician + Data Science Enthusiast + Motivator + Overthinker + Constant = Me.

My name is Rajesh Sigdel, and I am a Doctoral Candidate in Geography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The main focus of my ongoing research is on urban watersheds, specifically I study rivers and water resources at a variety of spatial and temporal scales. I examine human impacts on hydrology and the dynamics of wood load transport within river channels. In my work, I utilize a range of methods including remote sensing, geospatial analysis, fieldwork, and modeling. It is a great honor to be selected as part of the 2022 Tableau Student Ambassador cohort, and I look forward to bringing my unique perspectives on spatial data to the wider community. I began my Tableau journey about two years ago, when I was looking for a rapid and responsive toolset to analyze and visualize my dissertation data. Tableau met both of these requirements for me, and since then I have been a constant advocate for the software both in my department and on the wider university campus. In recent times, I have been exploring the wide range of spatial data analysis options that Tableau offers, and I have been excited to augment and enhance much of my GIS workflow with Tableau's beautiful and seamless mapping options. My favorite of these is the flow map, which can be used to show flows between origins and destinations on the Earth's surface which is especially helpful for tracking wood flows in streams. Another aspect of my journey is that I am an international student from Nepal. My birth country is rapidly developing, and there is a need for innovative analytical approaches to visualize the ongoing urbanization process. I hope that I can share Tableau not only with students on my campus, but also with my friends and family living abroad so that the Tableau community can continue to grow and expand in content and quality.
